Not sure if this is appropriate for RAIN but here goes. Sunday, June 19th at about 10 am a friend of mine was coming back from the west end of SCI in a 21 foot boat. He had his two children with him. They stopped to watch a group of humpbacks. One of the whales broke off from the others, approached the boat, rubbed its back on the underside, turned over and "cuddled" the boat having a fin on each side, spy hopped within a few feet of the the boat. The whale was pushing the boat about. Some photos were taken, one showing the fluke. Do we want to try to ID this whale? Do need to warn small boats to move away from such whales?
