Below is Class of 2011 CINCer Linda Taylor's 6/21/11 CX report. Apologies in advance if you happen to receive it twice.

Sightings:
Pod of Common Dolphins @ 10:30 (estimated @ 800-1000 animals) - bow riding and traveling very fast
Small pod of 15-20 Common Dolphins, traveling fast
First sightings of whales @ 11:30 near Santa Cruz Island --2 humpback whales and 6 blue whales, one blue whale calf
12:10 - one blue whale -- all whales traveling slowly
Second sighting of whales @12:59 towards Santa Rosa Island - 14 blue whales, including a cow/calf pair and a humpback cow/calf pair @ 1:15 --6 humpback whales, 1 blue
1:30 - 7 blue whales, 10 humpback whales- 2 humpback calves (logging)
In addition:
30+ Sooty Shearwaters
2 common murres
3 egg yolk jellies
1 young mola mola
Captains Mat and Dave and galley chief Brooke kept the 50 passengers informed, and even picked up a mylar baloon
Passengers were from many parts of the US, including NYC, Philadelphia, Florida, Colorado and Los Angeles. International visitors were from Toronto, England, Switzerland and Germany

Michael Smith from Gray Whales Count and Steve Uyehara from American Cetacean Society
Bhrian Resnik and guest (off duty)
