Friends,
Grab the VC spot @ Scorpion still open for Sunday. Contact DEREK, DAVE BEGUN, AND/OR CLARE TODAY to sign up and click volunteer spot also. Tuesday under spectacular sunny skys Michigan hiker reported a couple of bald eagles soaring above Delpine's Grove on the Montanon Hike while a visitor from Loreto, B.C. and I saw an opportunistic fox voraciously nibbling on zalophus californianus jerkey right in the native perenial native Frankenia salina alkali heath 25 yards from the anchorage, obviously oblivious to our amazement.

...it was a day for a record sighting number of island foxes: about 10! One even sighted on the barren eroded expanses just east of Cavern Point. I have not seen so many in one day on the island since volunteer fence building in the late 1980s.
Other sightings: Peregrine falcons off Cavern Point, a Rhinoceros Auklet skimming waves close to the boat, and Common Dolphin playing in our wake not far off the anchorage.,. Paul
