Thanks for finding and sharing this Catherine. I noticed they had a podcast on the website so I downloaded it. The whole podcast was 40 minutes, but I edited it so it just contained the 9+ minutes of the interview with Torben Rick. I’ve uploaded it to my SkyDrive for anyone who’s interested to download and listed to on their favorite mp3 player. This podcast has quite a bit of interesting info and it’s well worth listening to.

Subject: [CINC] Science Magazine article about the ancient indians and theChannel Islands

CINCers:

You should read at least this one page and then scan to article. Torben Rick on the list of scholars on this paper has spoken to our group in the past and he suggested this link to the paleoindians coming down the coast and then across the channel. Good stuff.

Do Island Sites Suggest a Coastal Route to the Americas?
On page 1181 of this week's issue of Science, archaeologists detail the remains of hunts carried out 12,000 years ago on Santa Rosa Island off the coast of California: thousands of bird, fish, and sea-mammal bones, as well as shells and stone points likely used in hunting.
MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "www.info-aaas.org" claiming to be http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/summary/331/6021/1122
