Dear Paul, et al,

Per subject issue, one African volcano pollutes the Earth¹s atmosphere
equivalent to all of the USA¹s daily energy consumption.
Just one volcano -- WOW!

Sadly in subject issue Nat¹l Geographic failed to mention the thousands of
active volcanoes spewing carbon, hydrogen, etc., into the oceans daily along
the mid oceanic ridge.

Ref.: http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/vents/nemo/explorer/concepts/mor.html
³Mid-ocean ridges
The global mid-ocean ridge system is the largest single volcanic feature on
the Earth, encircling it like the seams of a baseball. Here the Earth¹s
crust is spreading, creating new ocean floor and literally renewing the
surface of our planet. Older crust is recycled back into the mantle
elsewhere on the globe, typically where plates collide. The mid-ocean ridge
consists of thousands of individual volcanoes or volcanic ridge segments
which periodically erupt...²

FACT:
The bulk of carbon emissions (CO2) comes from natural sources like the
exhalation of living/breathing animals ‹ not to mention the mid-oceanic
ridge.

Enjoy this extraordinary video from the BBC.

With 7 billion souls to feed, house and cloth, our mother (Earth) is surely
fast approaching the worst possible ŒTragedy of the Commons¹.

My best,
Don
