Vic Cox and Others,
Vic, your phone message with return # was deleted by mistake. But this answer is for everyone! Of course spouses and dates are welcome. Singles come too! So far we have had an unofficial count of about 40 planning to attend. Encourage others! The site is on a bluff with a great view, but with access to the long sandy beach meandering toward Carpinteria.
It is a picnic type event. Everyone bring your own food and drink ( SB County allows adult beverages there if you bring your own ). Last year a few came early and had a wine social at a comfortable overlook, and others who came early went for a long walk on the beach. It is a great swimming beach as well. Kate Faulkner biked up from Ventura to join us, and arranged to have the bike transported back. Dick and I will have the BBQ pit going, and a couple big ice chests with ice to keep beverages cool for you. Dick likes to put paper table cloths on the ample picnic tables, so we could use help there. We will have the table cloths and tape. The $5 donation covers these things plus the reservation fee for the site , which is ours all day. We need help in cleaning up at sunset.
The potluck aspect means basically to bring your own food, but expand one dish enough to feed one more person. We don't want the boat crews from Ventura and Santa Barbara to have to scrounge something up. They are working hard until 5 p.m. to clean up the boats, and we want them to join us! Plan to take all your own leftovers home. This approach Dick and I think solves the personal preferences for food each person may have. Bring your own plates and utensils. There is a sink and running water. You will be able to cook your own whatever over the huge BBQ pit we will have ready. See you at Rincon Beach Park June 8th, 5 p.m. or earlier! Paul
