Learning new Channel Islands plants is fun. We've added several videos
of plants on ESCI to the You Tube channel "ondeerpath." You can check
out plants you want to see before you leave for the islands and look up
ones you've seen when you get back.
There are now 30 short videos in which Ken Owen shows and talks about
the most popular plants located from the hillside by the pier up to the
two restoration sites next to the lower campground.
You can access the videos at www.youtube.com/ondeerpath.
If you are at home on your computer, you definitely want to use the You
Tube site instead of the video files on Joel's Skydrive CINC site. On
You Tube you can see a page of thumbnails of all the videos to help find
the ones you want. The quality of the videos is much, much better. I've
also created playlists in which you can look for plants based on their
location.
We'll also be uploading the videos to Joel's Skydrive site. These
low-resolution videos are in small files that are great for downloading
to your mobile device so you can view them when looking at the plants on
the island. I'll let you know as soon as they're available.
Feedback on problems with the videos or your suggestions are always
welcome. Send to davidchubb at cox.net .
