Good to see so many who were able to pay last respects to Eugene at Ivy Lawn this afternoon.  Thank you so much Morgan for volunteering to prepare a book of short remembrances and photos sent to you by Nov. 25, something Shirley and family wold enjoy, describing the Eugene we knew.  (To Morgan only, not to rain list.)  Not condolences--happy memories, short and sweet.  His obituary from today's Star:

Jan. 30, 1924 - Nov. 8, 2011
Eugene Radding passed away peacefully with many family members beside him.
Eugene practiced law for over 50 years in Los Angeles, Burbank, and Ventura.
He was the oldest living licensed attorney in Ventura County at the time of his
passing. He was also a WWII veteran. Eugene married his wife Shirley Shapiro in 1953.
Living in Ventura since 1980, Eugene was a longtime and active volunteer in
many Jewish and civic communities. In particular, he nurtured a passion for the
whales and other sea life of the Channel Islands, and he served as a volunteer
docent on Santa Barbara-based whale-watching tours and at the Channel Islands
National Marine Sanctuary headquarters in Ventura. Eugene also volunteered at
Temple Beth Torah, Ventura County Legal Aid Services, Recordings for the Blind,
Ventura Food Share, Juanamaria Elementary School and other charities. His sister Ruth predeceased him in 1929. He is survived by his wife, Shirley;
his four children and their spouses, Jennifer (Jerry) Mann, Sara (Charles)
Watson, Joseph (Janet) Radding, Susan (Philip) Evard; grandchildren, Erin (Evan)
Schnair, Lisa and David Mann, Daniel and Rachel Watson, Rebecca and Nirra
Radding, Adam and Amelia Evard; and many extended family members, friends, and
community members. Eugene will be greatly missed by all who loved him and were
the beneficiaries of his wisdom and generosity.  Graveside services will be held at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park at 2 p.m. on
Thursday, Nov. 10.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ventura Food
Share, Temple Beth Torah Ventura, or the Channel Islands National Marine
Sanctuary.
