2 humpback whales

Captain Dave got a call about some humpbacks out on the west end of Santa Cruz.  Okayed by Fred to pursue them we headed west.  We spotted 2 spouts that turned out to be a trip to heaven on the boat.  2 very friendly humpbacks approached the  boat and held us hostage for 45 minutes.     It was totally awesome dude.  At one point one of the whales took a long look at us we his left eye out of the water.  I call that a very close encounter with a whale.  We were all speechless with our encounter.   The best in 7 years.   Thanks to the great crew Captain Dave, Dennis, and Matt.  All the naturalist Valerie Olson (what a great talk) Carolyn McCleskey, Barbara  on PiD.  I think I died and went to heaven Debbie Shelley.  What a wonderful day in paradise!!!
