9am Trip:
1 Gray Whale
4 Bottnose Dolphins
123 students from the Aliso school got to see a Gray Whale who liked to
travel barely under the surface of the water, taking short breaths, without
spouting; this behavior continued for 36 minutes. Not something you see
every day.
12 Noon Trip:
1 Gray Whale
100+ Common Dolphins (40+ in one sighting; 60+ in another)
This was a charter trip with 54 passengers from the huge Sapphire Princess
(with a capacity of around 3,200 people).
Expert sighting and narration from both Capt. Mat and Capt. Dave; Matt in
the galley; CINC represented by Don Shubert and Hal Altman (PID).
ENJOYING LIFE,
Hal Altman
