The trip on the Condor today had people from more nations than we could count - a real international sampling which included, but was not limited to, Japan, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, France etc. etc etc. There were a lot of folks from the US too, for a total passenger count of about 90.
We saw 9 humpbacks and 1500 dolphin in multiple pods. Cpt. Matt did his best to find the passengers a blue, staying out for an extra hour, but that was not in the cards.
The day itself was overcast and relatively calm, however several people got sea sick. (Some admitted that it was probably too much good food and drink the night before for Fiesta.)
On the trip were Gary Delanoye as the other naturalist and Gary Sullivan as PID. The crew consisted of Cpts. Matt and Dave with Matt in the galley. Bob was also along for photo opportunities for the Condor.
The passengers were fascinated by the whales! A couple of the families from Europe had planned their vacations specifically so they could go whale watching in the channel. Another group had been out to Santa Cruz the day before and commented on the "fearless behavior" of the island foxes. We had lots and lots of good questions and the passengers left with a good experience to share with their friends back home.
