_*The Numbers*_
16 Humpbacks -- more in the area
8 Blues -- more in the distance
1500 Common Dolphins -- 2 different sightings (one large -- the other
smaller)
6 Risso Dolphins
_*More Info*_
The whale numbers don't begin to describe how great this trip was. Just
about every behavior that humpbacks can display was observed. Many of
the humpbacks approached the boat and at times went under the boat, so
the behaviors were observed at close view. Views of the Blues were
just about as close as the humpbacks. Needless to say, all the
passengers, who were from many places around the world as well as
California, left extremely happy. The IPCO captain Anthony and crew
as usual presented an excellent narration from the wheelhouse. For
Linda Tayor, my fellow naturalist, and me it was a memorable day. I can
say that in the eleven years I have been a naturalist this was one of
the best if not the best whale watch I have been on.
