Today ...

12 Humpbacks
1 Blue
2 pods of Common Dolphins ~1000 each

I am not prone to writing "paradise reports", but today was so  
spectacular I have to elaborate or burst!  We encountered a group  
outside Santa Cruz that treated us to every special whale behavior  
imaginable; breaching, tail lobbing, pec slapping, chin slapping and  
a special humpback look square in the eye.  We saw all these close up  
and multiple times.  Needless to say all passengers, crew and  
naturalists were delighted.  It was like being in the middle of a  
"National Geographic Special"!
