[CINC] IPCO-Ventura -2/20

Naturalists Bill Weinerth & Linda Taylor accompanied 103 passengers (from Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, Netherlands, Japan) aboard the Islander from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, Feb 20.  No whales or even spouts were seen.
  
Animals seen:
Pod of about 100 Common Dolphins, many juveniles included
Over 200 sea lions hauled out on the "back" side of Anacapa, with 4 rafts of multiple sea lions in the water near the shore
Many Double Crested Cormorants
Pelagic Cormorants
California Brown Pelicans resting on the rocks of Anacapa
Common Murres
Rhinoceros Auklets
Tufted Puffins
Western Gulls 
Heermann's Gulls

Captain Dave, mate Andrea did a terrific job of narrating, including much history of the National Marine Sanctuary and the Channel Islands National Park.  Mate Pedro assisted.
