A surprisingly calm day on the water despite the impending storm.
10 Bottlenose (in the Ventura Harbor)
5 Gray Whales (just past West End Anacapa)
200 Common Dolphins (100 going out; 100 coming back)

Seas were very calm, and just a wisp of a breeze.  Passengers from South Dakota, 
Minnesota, Chicago, Utah, and locals.  Capt Dave at the helm (lots of 
compliments for his wonderful narrative), Steve, Thomas, and Naturalist Michelle 
Wassell.
