[CINC] IPCO Whale Watch- January 30, 2012

Sightings:  5 Risso's Dolphins moving slowly on the surface
		1 elusive gray whale who only showed himself once

We headed for the islands under 90% cloud cover with moderate seas.   
Once beyond the escarpment the seas became almost calm, due to light  
east winds.  We saw many birds, but the sea mammals were elusive.   
After a close trip down the back side of Anacapa and a visit to the  
Arch, we headed to port and encountered a pod of 5 large Risso  
dolphins moving slowly on the surface.  We also sighted one gray  
whale and waited for it to resurface, but it was not to be.

Passengers from Pennsylvania, Florida, Idaho, Maryland, Colorado,  
Carson, Nipomo, Oxnard, Ventura, China and India were thrilled with  
their experience.

Thanks to Captain Jason, Luke and Steve for another great day on the  
water.
