Sightings:
3500 Common Dolphins
12 Humpbacks
3 Blue Whales
Highlights:
Afternoon trip:
34 08 N 119 55 W area--Same general vicinity of where we have been seeing the whales for over a week now.
Swell and wind had picked up--4-6 ft/ 20 knots average.
Huge pod of 3000 common dolphins almost as far west as the eye could see with 200-300 all around the boat at any given time for the next couple hours-- as we pushed into the swell to get closer to the many spouts--Dolphins were seemingly competing for bow riding positions and wave riding the swell around us.
Close looks at a couple of pairs of humpbacks.
Tail lobbing numerous times by one humpback who was on its own.
Racing Blue whale that picked 3/4 of its body up in a "breach like movement"--we followed this whale for quite some time!! (BIG highlight)
Sold out, enthusiastic boat!
