two grey whales headed west (north) north of east AI atat 10:15 AMwestern gulls are establishing their territoriesthe ice plant is melting away Fourteen high school students (two from Rio Mesa and twelve from Pacifica) and five adults boarded the Vanguard on this perfect, calm Saturday morning.Just after landing we worked near the boardwalk toward Cathedral Cove, preparing the area for spraying with the herbicide. The process is called "Haloing". We simple pull the ice plant away from the natives so Robert and Kencan get the ice plant sprayed without hitting the natives.Lunch was at Inspiration Point. After lunch we planted natives just below the visitor center.Dick Bellman, Robert Carr, Robert's friend Kate and Kate sister were the adults with me.Bill Weinerth
