[CINC] Outreach Event

On Thursday March 8 Tamara Thompson, Lisa Rizzo and I made a presentation to 40 members and guests of the Channel Islands Womens Sailing Association.  We provided an overview of the CINC, the Park and the Sanctuary and discussed opportunities for public enjoyment of the Channel and the Islands, volunteer opportunities, and educational programs for teachers and classrooms.  Regulations surrounding fishing, anchoring, and visiting the islands was reviewed and all were provided with the Protecting Your Channel Islands brochure.  We also showed the Park movie and talked about becoming good stewards of our amazing area.  All 3 naturalists are avid sailors and are members of this group.  We have been asked to provide a second presentation in the future, focusing on some of the marine mammals, island animals, plants and birds that can be viewed on land and from the water.
