AM trip -
2 Grey whale cow calf pairs-very close to Mugu Rock
200 + common dolphins, wave riding
many, many common murre
pelicans
pelagic cormorants

Captain Joel, mates Pancho and Justin
very full boat--5th grade class from Pleasant Valley Christian School + 8 chaperones
Class from Sierra Linda Elementary School + 5 chaperones
Individuals from Ventura, Camarillo
Terrific narration by Justin, including many bird identifications 


PM trip
2 Grey whale cow calf pairs (possibly same pair, sighted twice)
Huge pod of common dolphins (500+) - wave riding, slowly swimming together
Off Anacapa-very large group of pelagic cormorants "hanging out" in the water
Sea lions hauled out on beach at Anacapa
Smaller group-- folks from Ventura, Camarillo, upstate New York, Michigan, Texas, Colorado, Ojai
At least half of the group asked many questions about camping on the Channel Islands, indicating that they were planning to do that as soon as they could.
