Aboard Ocean Ranger Wednesday morning, we saw what I presume were Pacific Grays or Humpbacks, spouts probably several miles north east of East Anacapa while traveling with Channel Islands Restoration to Anacapa as work leader for the NPS project for removal of ice-plant and restoration of native plants. The rain softened the ground, wonderful for both weeding and planting, as well as hydrating recent transplants from nursery to field.
