A.M. sightings:		approximately 20 bottlenose dolphins just outside  
the harbor
				50 common dolphins midway to Anacapa
				one large fin whale between Anacapa and Santa Cruz

We had a large group of fifth graders from Tierra Vista School in  
Oxnard; other passengers were from Louisiana and Illinois.  Seas were  
rough on the way out under total cloud cover, with many sick  
children.  The dolphins lifted everyone's spirits, and the fin whale  
amazed, as did Captain Anthony's commentary as we followed the fin  
whale.

P.M. sightings		1 dolphin pod of about 100, a mega pod on the back  
side of Anacapa of at least 1000

Passengers were from Illinois, New York, Thousand Oaks, Apple Valley,  
Simi Valley, England, South Africa and Holland, including a large  
group of home-schooled students and their parents.  The clouds lifted  
behind Anacapa and everyone enjoyed viewing the dolphins under blue  
skies through calm and clear water.
