[CINC] 4-3-2013 Island Adventure

Morning Trip:


400 common dolphin
2 humpback whales (mom and calf)
1 fin whale





Afternoon Trip:


1 gray whale
2 humpback whales (mom and calf) breaching!!
1 mola mola




This was my certification trip and a BIG thanks to Joel Justin, Tina Stephens and Dick Bellman!


The AM trip had foreign passengers from Germany and Argentina.  Many parents with children on spring break from Utah, Georgia and Montana.  Massive feeding frenzy which the passengers enjoyed watching with action both above and below the surface.


The PM trip had foreign passengers from France and Italy.  Again, parents with children on break.  Visitors from the states included Ohio, Mississippi & Utah.  We saw our whales very shortly after we left Ventura Harbor.  Spectacular tail flukes and breaching behavior was observed.  


The Island Adventure crew of Skipper Jimmy,  crew Steve & Matt, helped make it a spectacular day for all the passengers.
