AM Trip: 2 humpbacks (mother and calf)             100 common dolphins              5 bottlenose dolphins
PM Trip: 1000 common dolphins

The last Island Packers whale watching trip of the season took place on a cold day under a gloomy sky, but passengers still enjoyed their adventure.  On the morning trip, we saw a few bottlenose dolphins at the mouth of the harbor, then headed out to see.  At some point, a small pod of common dolphins joined us.  After quite some time of looking into the fog, Captain Jason spotted a humpback mother and her calf.  As we headed back to the harbor, we about 25 sea lions rode our wake, jumping and twisting with a great show.
The humpbacks eluded us on the afternoon trip, but we made up for it by seeing a huge pod of common dolphins.  Captain Jason stayed with them for a long time as everyone on board enjoyed seeing these magnificent animals.
Thanks to Captain Jason and his great crew, Joel and Lori
