Sightings:
Thousands of common dolphin - literally.  Probably about 4,000 total, everywhere we went.
8 Minkes.

Captains Mat and Dave were on the boat along with Cassidy.  Carolyn McCleskey was aboard as PID.  We didn't venture out to the islands because the seas were too rough. Most of the time we stayed on the landward (North) side of the channel. We first went Westward and found dolphin feeding and lots of birds, but no whales.  After a time we turned back East and zig zagged around finding more dolphin and birds and spotted one minke that was very shy.  Further East we found lots more birds and dolphin feeding along with several minkes.  We stayed with these whales for a long while and the passengers got lots of good looks at them.  These whales weren't shy and surfaced quite close to the boat a number of times.  We stayed near shore on the way back to SB in hopes of seeing the humpback cow/calf pair Mat hat spotted a couple days ago, but they had apparently moved on.  All-in-all, the passengers were pretty pleased.  Of course they hoped for humpbacks
and blues, but the dolphins put on their usual show and the day, which started out overcast, cleared to sunny blue skies.
