Ocean and Island Gang,
P.S. Thanks to Dick Bellman, as well, for joining me on our July Marine Mammal outreach at the two branches of Thousand Oaks Library, on the same afternoon! Paul

We had 55 campers attend, all families from California. Two thirds of them indicated they had never been whale watching, nor to their Channel Islands National Park. As has been the case all summer, we had a very attentive audience, with many kids coming their parents up to the the display table at the close of our presentation with a lot of great questions: And inquiries as to how to go whale watching or get to our islands. However, we did have one question asking about the reliability of one Discovery Channel program depicting Mermaids ( male and female ) as real marine mammals!? And this was from an adult!

Tara was a constant star; Shirley and Bruce alternated shining between the two parks; and Ken was a bright glow in our real time of need ( like when your's truly had to bale out ). Also, Debbie Shelley and Hank Mitchell joined in on a couple outings as well. Thanks to you all for helping make this the best cooperative venture with our local State Beach campgrounds. We averaged 100 an outing! I Sari Wa, Paul
