Hi folks,

Well, ... what a beautiful day it turned out to be, just right for the BBQ Picnic and a good time was had by all.

The classic choices of chips and salsa were laid out on the table right away and, you guessed it, folk were chipping and dipping, as it was being poured.

Talking about pouring, a nice variety of beverages were on hand, some representing local vintners fine creations, to the casual beers, and soft drinks were quenching the thirsts of the day.

The $5 bucket was at the ready, for us all to chip in to cover the park and picnic support supplies, everyone joined in nicely, filling it to over flowing, ... heh, heh, ... well maybe not to over flowing, but you get we we mean.

With the fire hot and ready, light smoke was rising to flavor the hot dogs, to sausages, to kabbabs, to burgers (veggie and carnivore types), to chicken, corn on the cob in the husks, to pork chops to beef steaks. All joined in on the communal BBQ, seasoning and doing them up to their own delightful tastes. What fun we had around those nice hot coals, giving each other our finer tips on how this or that should be cooked or seasoned.

Great salads, full of greens and tomatoes, peas, asparagus, and pasta were brought in, with several choices of dressing, ...

Aaaahhhh, ... and then of course, ... desserts, lip smackin' and a drulin.' ... right there, to satisfy any palate, ... were waiting the end of the meal. Of course, we all took our sampling. ... maybe seconds, too.

Did we mention it was a beautiful clear afternoon, going into evening, ... nice.

A good turn out of veterans and class of 2013 came to join in on the mixing of chit chat, WW and Island hike stories, and just pain enjoying and getting to know one another further. We had the '13ers introduce themselves and give is a bit of their background, and they were welcomed both personally, across the day, and by the whole, at their formal intros with a great round of applause.

Then we raise our glasses and a fine cheer to Paul Petrich, with or Director Shauna Bingham, along, in Washington, D.C., for the award ceremony of the National Marine Sanctuaries, National Volunteer of the Year to Paul, who was receiving it about the same time we raised our glasses. Well deserved, Paul, well deserved.

Many thanks to Dick Bellman who took full control of this year's Picnic, as Shauna "dragged" Paul away to D.C. It came off without a hitch and all of us are looking forward to next year's, ... can you believe it, 5th Annual CINC Potluck Picnic.

A nice, gradual, evening sunset, reflecting nicely off our beautiful Pacific Ocean, drew the day and festivities, to a warm gentle close.

See ya all on the boats or the Islands, ... and back here next year.

A few Pics of the afternoon, of course not everyone is represented, but you get the idea.

This is the SmugMug link for this gallery.

Once into it, you will see the introduction text, with the photos below.

For good resolution, go to the upper right hand corner, just above the intro text, click on little box labeled "slide show," and it will open up full screen. Click in the middle of the screen will pause and get started again for text reading or longer enjoyment of the image. You can also go forward or back by clicking the arrows on either side of the screen.

Or, you can just click through them at your leisure without going to the slide show. For this choice, we DO recommend to click once to enlarge the main image, and then stretch out the window full frame, this gives a much larger image, almost to the full frame.

When finished, hit your ESC key or go to the upper right hand corner, again, above the images and click on the words "Return to Gallery, and your are out.

Enjoy.
