An early trip today, 800-1230 due to an afternoon charter. I am estimating about 40 passengers. June Gloom all day but calm seas and good visibility. The MNs were seen over 4 different sightings; always with several more spouts nearby that would raise the count considerably. One lunge feeding episode noted, a few breaches at a distance and peck-slapping. Lots of bait in the water and the gazillion common dolphins were all over the place, all the time. The 3 Rissos were less gregarious, noted when backing out of a surgy entrance to Painted Cave. The Bottlenoses... just inside the harbor upon the Condor X's return to Sea Landing. Busy on PID duty today... a 2-pager ! Dick Bellman interpreting the sights too, Capt. Mat, Eric and Tasha crewing and Bob Perry who got some of those peck-slapping shots, soon to be available on the website.
It was nostalgic to be on the old Condor the last couple of months! BUT, even better to be back on the Condor Express! What a great and fast restoration with upgrades! Really amazing how quickly things got done!!! Really an exciting and enjoyable day out there today!
