 If you have time, check out this link to one exceptional session that was presented at the Capitol Hill Ocean Week Symposium: "Did you know: MPAs Work?" Our Congresswoman Lois Capps is one of the National Marine Sanctuary Caucus Co-Chairs giving the introduction. She recognizes me ( and the CINC! ) as I was in attendance with Shauna. However, a great highlight comes when the moderator, Fred Keeley, introduces Michael Cohen, the owner of the Santa Barbara Adventure Company. Michael makes a great case for the  educational, as well as economic benefits, of MPAs. Make sure you focus on the first part of his video presentation from Refugio State Beach. While escorting a youth group of Aquanaughts out into the water just beyond the surf, his camera man catches a pair of Gray Whales swimming in shallow water right under them!! Then they breach!
