1 CURIOUS HUMPBACK
800-1,000 COMMON DOLPHINS

Noteworthy: The fog was so thick, we may have driven right past some
whales. Finally, at 1307, Capt. Dave spotted a Humpback that was easy to
ID, with a good chunk of the left fluke cleanly sliced off, perhaps by a
propeller strike. Although this whale did not fascinate us with
spectacular displays, curiosity brought him/her quite close to the Condor,
while the short 4-minute dives gave us plenty of observation time.

Dave, Eric, Tosh as well as Bob Perry on board. Valerie Olson and Susan
Kline kept the passengers from getting discouraged during the glum foggy
period.

ENJOYING LIFE,
Hal Altman
