[CINC] Today on the Condor--March 7, 2013

4 Gray Whales
2 Humpbacks (with 6 more in the distance)!!!!
1 Female Elephant seal, swimming
50 Common Dolphins with 5 babies
6 Sea Lions on the buoy

Because Capt. Matt maintained phone contact with Michael Smith, the gray whale counter at Coal Oil Point, he
was able to head directly to the gray whales.  Then, Capt. Mat committed the boat to an extra 5 miles east and 
40 extra minutes due to a tip from Michael that humpbacks were spotted.  John H., PID, was able to ID two 
humpbacks and three grays.  The 15 passengers from Germany, London, Chile, Switzerland, Ohio,
upper New York and Pennsylvania applauded just before we headed back!  

It was a pleasure serving with the above people as well as Rae E., fellow naturalist, and Tasha & Matt on the
boat.  Another good, though cold, day on the water!
