500 common dolphin, with a few youngsters
CA Brown Pelicans and Western Grebes sprinkled in...

A spectacular day on the water for us, with 29 passengers from Nebraska, Ohio, St.Louis, MS, Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara.  All were so happy to see glassy water in spots, crystal clear for views and the visit by our wonderful marine life. Little wind, small swell only and warm sunshine.  The common dolphin performed like a movie script and delighted all.  Our first two ER stayed fairly close with good views of mottled side patterns, most passengers heard a few blows and all witnessed (cameras clicking) the two good-bye flukes as they departed.  Passengers loved the thermo-regulating trio of sea lions and we had a nice discussion about this necessary behavior.

During the return trip Captain Tyler located one lone grey in the far distance.  Close enough for good camera work and still plenty of viewing for us without cameras.  Captain Tyler also cut engines, allowing us the absolute magical and silence of waves on the hull and not another noise to be heard.  It was wonderful!  Great day and all passengers were thrilled with the morning.

Afternoon trip sold out!

Thanks to Captain Tyler and First Mate Colton for one of the best days on the water, ever.

Naturalist on board, Tina Stephens with Susan Lascher and Roberta Soto as shadows and ready to certify!
