[CINC] 3/23/13 Ranger 85 out of Oxnard

      small pod of Common Dolphins

What a beautiful sunny day on the water!  In the AM we headed east to look for 
the northbound Grays.  Found a small pod of Dolphins & finally, while on the 
home stretch in shallow water, we found a small Gray who snorkeled for quite a 
while.  Then it came closer to the boat & did some rolling behavior showing us 
the belly before disappearing.

PM trip started with a report of whales about mid channel  between Oxnard & 
ACI.  We were able to follow 2 pairs of 2 Grays for a long time, with many 
flukes.  One pair came closer to the boat while we were idling giving us great 
views of their size.  There was a breach in the distance.  Found 2 more on the 
way home.  Not even one dolphin on the PM trip.
