Ahoy All,
I'm leaving Dick in the lurch! If someone from the Santa Barbara or Carpinteria area can get to the Rincon Park site early in the day somewhere around noon, you can check for Dick that Santa Barbara County Parks has posted our reservation on the site. Every year they have done so, except for last year. I had to put a handwritten notice up.The site is reserved for the entire day, and Dick has the permit, all paid up. We have the entire gazebo and all the tables assigned to us. There is an on-site camp host, but he/she may have a mid week day off.
I will be recognizing you all about the same time you start to party. As far as I am concerned, the award is a reflection of the volunteer work we all do for the sanctuary and islands you will overlook! Catherine French says she will be there to introduce all the newbies. Dick has ordered the best of Rincon weather. Remember, you southerners, afternoon winds down on the Oxnard Plains and in the Ventura Harbor, are not nearly as prevalent on the Rincon. Have fun! Paul

I want to extend a very special invitation to the class of 2013, as this will give you a wonderful opportunity to meet and interact with the more veteran naturalists. In any case, it has always been a fun event.
