We finally made it out to the Islands today. Weather had prevented the Condor from most of its scheduled trips this week. The wait was well worth it. On today's journey we logged our first Blue Whale siting of the season. Much to to delight of the passengers and crew on board. Those who regularly work with Captain Dave could hear the excitement in his voice as he happily informed us all of our discovery. We were just off the south west side of Santa Cruz. The Blues were joined by three feeding Humpbacks. Two additional Humpbacks were spotted on the way out. One actively feeding lunging repeatedly out of the water. The other offering a friendly approach towards the Condor. Swimming around us in circles often under the boat. The journey back was a lot of water not any activity. I was the only Naturalist on board today.
