[CINC] Santa Barbara Ocean Festival and World Oceans Day

Hello CINC!

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the transition toward summer with
the arrival of humpback whales and nesting gulls!

I wanted to let you know I have now posted the *June 8th World Oceans Day/
Santa Barbara Ocean Festival* outreach event on the Volunteer Spot
calendar. This should be a fun event right on the sand near Sea Landing. To

I am honored to be accompanying Paul Petrich to Capitol Hill Oceans Week
http://nmsfocean.org/CHOW-2013 in Washington DC to watch him receive the
National Marine Sanctuary Foundation Volunteer of the Year award! I am so
proud of what we all accomplish here together at Channel Islands National
Marine Sanctuary and National Park -- we could not do it without the
support of all of you. Please be sure to toast to Paul and your collective
efforts at the June 4th CINC picnic, Paul will be receiving his award right
around the same time you are all at the picnic!

Finally, please note the sanctuary's Santa Barbara headquarters office is
moving to the UCSB campus over the next week. We plan to host the CINC
August meeting there to give you a tour of our new offices and the future
ocean science education building. You are welcome to stop by anytime to
visit me there and we will still maintain an office in the Santa Barbara
Harbor so we can continue to stage outreach materials, brochures and
sightings reports there. If you have any questions let me know, our new
address is below.
