Captain Frank
and crew Jason took about 70 passengers out toward Anacapa Island for the AM
trip.  He spotted about 50 Common
dolphins feeding 2 miles offshore.  We
encountered a small pod of about 10 dolphins about 6 miles offshore and another
small pod of 10 about 9 miles out.  We
went around to the south side of Anacapa and saw hundreds of California sea
lions and about 50 Bottlenose dolphins.  On the return trip we encountered another small pod of about 20 Common dolphins.  Everyone enjoyed the dolphin shows.  
The PM trip
(another full boat) spotted a small pod of about 20 common dolphins 5 miles
offshore.  On the return trip, Captain
Frank spotted a Humpback about 3 miles offshore.  We followed the Humpback for about 20 minutes
and the passengers were rewarded with several fluke shots and whale
breath.  Captain Frank’s excellent
narration and enthusiasm made this another great day in the Santa Barbara
channel.
