FYI - Message sent to CINC Volunteers Re: Shut-Down

Because of the federal government shutdown, Channel Islands National Park and Channel
Islands National Marine Sanc
 
tuary and all visitor facilities and services are closed as of midnight October 1, 2013.
No volunteers are allowed to work in the park or sanctuary during this government shutdown. Therefore, all volunteer assignments for whale watch trips and island day and overnight trips have been cancelled. Continue to follow the news for the most current information on the federal government shutdown. Once the shutdown has ended we will return to the scheduled assignments for volunteers to work in the park and sanctuary.
For the duration of the shutdown, all National Park Service and National Marine Sanctuary employees will be furloughed and will not be able to check email or voicemail until the government re-opens.--
