Here is an update as to the status of this year's nesting efforts by
bald eagles on the Channel Islands:<br>

<blockquote>* Pelican Harbor Nest- 2 chicks DIED (4/6 and 4/11 )
(Cause unknown)<br>
* Grassland Nest- not nesting<br>
* Sauces Canyon- nest failed (adults were incubating)<br>
* Cueva Valdez Pair- not nesting<br>
* Yellowbanks pair- not nesting<br>

<blockquote>* Box Canyon- adults incubating (past due- egg likely
failed)<br>

Catalina Island

<blockquote>* Pinnacle Rocks- 1 chick<br>
* Seal Rocks- 1 chick (hatch 4/8, 2nd egg disappeared)<br>
* Twin Rocks- 2 chicks<br>
* West End- 2 chicks (hatch dates 4/7 and 4/9)<br>
* Two Harbor- 2 chicks (hatch dates 3/26 and 3/28)<br>
* Middle Ranch- no sign of nesting behavior<br>
* Rattlesnake- nest failed 3/19 (adults were incubating at one point)<br>

We have a total of 8 confirmed chicks from 5 nests on Catalina Island.<br>
