RAIN Community Technology Center & Computer Lab
Moves to Santa Barbara North County
There is going to be an excigting Family & Youth Cyber-Stop in the North County
One of the primary goals of the RAIN Network is providing Internet services to rural communities. There has long been a need for
a Youth & Family focused Computer Lab and Cafe in the Santa Barbara North County area and RAIN has decided to fill that need.
After over 10 years in Santa Barbara, completing 5 USDA education and telemedicine grant projects, 2 California State education
grant projects and successfully training over 500 teachers, Doctors and Community Government leaders in the use of
new technology like the Internet we are now going to give the North County a chance to experience what RAIN's Internet
Center can provide.
The RAIN Network will be providing broadband DSL and Wireless in the San Luis Opispo County area this fall and will be setting
up a Wireless broadband Network as part of the new Community Technology Center and Computer Lab.
