Larry Flores
In June of 1994, Larry Flores became the first in his family to graduate
from high school. An accomplishment second only to the fact that, thanks
to help from the community through the Scholarship Foundation, Larry
became the first to attend college.
Facing some tough circumstances, Larry set his mind to beating the
odds.
Described by his high school teachers as a role model, Larry has taken his
leadership qualities back to those who need a positive example in their
lives. While a student at UCSB, Larry works as a tutor, and visits as a
speaker at local junior and senior high schools.
When people are labeling the teens of the '90s as "Generation X," and as
kids who have no vision for the future, Larry is on Santa Barbara high
school campuses giving kids hope and an example for their future.
