Guidelines

Scholarship funds may be used at Title IV-approved, two or four year colleges and universities, and at some vocational schools, graduate and proffesional schools. The Scholarship Foundation will determine what colleges and schools are acceptable, and some awards are restricted to specific schools. Scholarship funds are awarded for full-time study during the academic year only, and funds are not available for summer sessions, special projects or programs, research, part-time programs, or for any school determined to be unacceptable. Awards are made for one academic year only, and applicants must re-apply each year if they wish to be considered for funds for subsequent years. Generally, applicants mat not recieve more than four years of scholarship assistance from the Scholarship Foundation.

Applications are available each year beginning December 1st and are due back by January 31st. Applications are not available the rest of the year. Every eligible applicant is required to have a personal interview in Santa Barbara during the month of March - absolutely no phone interviews are granted.

After December 1st each year, you may obtain an application at the Scholarship Foundation office at 1522 State Street in Santa Barbara, or you may send a self-addressed, double-stamped long envelope to the Foundation and we will mail you an application. High School Seniors in Santa Barbara County may obtain applications at their school counselors' office after Decemer 1st. Applications may not be requested over the phone.
