Nancy Maynez & Emma Carrasco
Nancy graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in 1972. After recieving her
elementary education degree from California State University-San Diego,
Nancy returned home to Santa Barbara to teach.
When Nancy applied for a scholarship, she wrote, "I plan to become a
nursery and elementary school teacher, because it seems to me that these
are the most important years in a child's life."
Last year she was appointed principal of Harding Elementary School.
Emma was also born and raised in Santa Barbara and graduated from local
schools. Emma's first employment while at Santa Barbara High School was at
the McDonald's on Milpas. By working at McDonald's she earned money to
attend Loyola Marymount University. In 1979, she recieved her degree in
Communication Arts with help from the Scholarship Foundation.
Emma now works as Home Office Director for McDonald's Corporation in the
Communications Department at their corporate headquarters in Illinois.
