Join
Camp Internet this summer on a Reading Expedition through the
history and stories from each of the Camp Internet special study
areas, including American History, GIS and map making, ancient
Southwest Cultures and Ocean Studies.
Every Reader completing the summer program receives a free Camp
Internet cd-rom, Camp Expedition Video cd-rom and a very special
Camp Internet Poster.
We will use the fun and diverse, bilingual, electronic library
and story resources within Camp Internet as our source of books
this summer.
Start in June with readings from the California Channel Islands
Region, then travel over to the California BackCountry campus
to see what books wait there.
Third week takes you to the Ancient Southwest. What Cultures lived
there and what writings are there about Peace in the Southwest?
Fourth
week you connect with satellites and with the earth as you read
about GPS (global positioning satellites) and GIS map making.
You'll be surprised to see what writing on Peace and Environment
await you in the GIS and Map Making campus. We will read original
diaries from Lewis and Clark during this week.
Fifth week takes you into the Camp Internet Global Garden, reading
books about Peaceful Cultures and Agriculture. What will the Garden
have to do with our summer study of Peace? Let's wait and see.
Week six you are off into reading on a very special History of
the United States. Beginning with early Native Americans and moving
on up to the Quakers, Amish and some amazing writing about the
Peaceful origins of America.
When your 6 week Reading Expedition is completed you will received
a special Camp Internet cd-rom, Video cd-rom and Camp Poster.
All you have to do is post one book report a week.
So! Get Reading
and follow the links on this page to begin your travels through
Camp Internet.
