"Portraits in Nature" is a kaleidoscopic presentation of plants and animals describing Dr. Friesen's subjects and techniques for capturing their images, including scanning electron microscopy, photomicroscopy, macro-and telephoto-photography.

About the Speaker

Dr. Larry Jon Friesen is Professor of Biological Sciences at Santa Barbara City College where he teaches a wide variety of courses including Cell Biology, Evolution, Ecology, Animal Diversity, Ornithology, Insect Biology and Nature Photography. His photography is widely used in textbooks, research articles, and his own Internet courses in biology and two new online nature magazines: Santa Barbara Nature and Nature Journal.
