
Act II, Scene I
- Edmund learns of a possible disturbance
about to occur between Albany and Cornwall
- Cornwall and Regan will be at Gloucester's
castle that night
- Edmund tells Edgar to leave because
Gloucester knows where he is and Cornwall suspects Edgar of working with
Albany
- Edmund makes a big deal about "trying"
to stop Edgar from escaping, he hurts him arm purposely
- Edmund cries and whines loudly,
which causes Gloucester to come running in
- Gloucester is again convinced that
Edgar is evil
- Gloucester puts a death warrant
on Edgar
- Gloucester tells Edmund how wonderful
he is and refers to Edmund as his loyal and natural boy
- Edmund will inherit Gloucester's
things
- Cornwall and Regan enter
- Agree with Gloucester and Edmund
that Edgar is bad
- Cornwall and Regan have come for
advice on how to deal with King regarding his argument with Goneril
- Cornwall and Regan want to avoid
an encounter with Lear's complaining
