Act III, Scene I
- Kent meets the Gentleman in the
storm
- Kent learns that Lear is wandering
about in the storm
- Kent thinks that he can trust the
Gentleman, so he tells him that there may be a war between Albany and Cornwall
and the King of France is about to lead an invasion of England
- Gentleman is supposed to go to
Dover and inform loyal subjects of how Lear has been mistreated
- If he meets Cordelia, he is supposed
to show a ring and she will reveal his Kent's identity
