The beach at Cuil Bay is a popular one for picnics, shell collecting, and dog walking. The center of the panorama looks southwest down Loch Linnhe; the island of Mull can be seen in the distance. The hills of Kingairloch and Ardgour are seen on the west side of Loch Linnhe.

The seven digital images that make up the panorama were taken in May 2002 in the "landscape" format at a resolution of 640x480 pixels. The camera was an Olympus C-3040Zoom, using a "SmartMedia" memory card with panorama capture capability. The images were assembled using Photoshop 4, rather than an automatic "stitching" program.
