It was the beta times. It was the worst of times. Back in the old days
(pre Feb. 13, 1996) there wasn't any *free* Java for the Mac. So when the
Java Developer's Kit became available for 68k and Power Macs I started
this page even though there still wasn't a Java-capable browser for the
Macintosh. On Feb 22, Netscape released MacJava 2.0b1 for Power Macs and
things started looking up(scale.) And when Sun and Netscape 3.0 beta finally
got that Virtural Java Machine percolating on the 68k Mac, I felt that
Java-the-Mac, had grown up so the journals ceased. Perhaps they are still
of some historical or perhaps hysterical interest.
