Book Six
3/26/96 I apologize for neglecting this journal lately. I attended an educational conference down in sunny San Diego and then stopped by Club Mud for a couple of days on the way back. There's nothing like warm mud and hot mineral baths to get you back in touch with non-virtual reality.

Dan Marschka is running a Performa 6115CD (6100/60) clocked to 90Mhz, level 2 cache, 40 megs RAM. with 7.5 / 2.0 update. and "It is all working!!!!!" Thanks Dan.

4-18-96 I apologize again for neglecting this journal. I'll dedicate the coming weekend to catching up on correspondence and updating this site. I've been having great success with Java (I think I finally "got it") and I'll share that. Thanks for your patience.

4/19/96 There's an excellent editorial about Mac and Java by Michael O'Connel in the current Javaworld issue. Check it out. It's a call to arms!

Time to catch up on some correspondence.

Hi Dale,
My PMac 8500 run applets fine from Netscape 20.JavaB (under OT 1.1b) until I upgraded to OT 1.1. I tried to go back, but It did not help. NetscapeJava would crash after encountering Java code. I just downloaded the NetscapeJava dated March 14 and it seems to work fine (system 7.5.3). PS.Applet Viewer was always working fine for viewing local applets. I never got it to work as a browser.

4-22-96 Pan reports that the PPC 6100/66 plain runs Java applets.

4-23-96 Lane Grayson is having trouble compiling a 1000 line program and wonders what the longest that anyone has successfully compiled is.

Tim Newton says that his 7100/66 AV running OT 1.1 & Sys 7.5.3 works.
